The snow drops were the first flowers up this year; a few stems poked through the snow in early March, wilting each time the cold wind blew or more snow fell. At current count there are nine flowers clustered on the slope beside our front walk. I plant more every year because this is my dream...
I am a teacher and graduate student in Literacy Studies. I live in a small New England coastal town with a dog, a cat, my husband, the Pirate King(PK for short)and our baby boy. We grow gardens, paint, play crazy violin music and kayak as often as possible.

About This Blog
This online exploration is a record of my quest to approach life more mindfully, and to pay close attention to my own artistic impulses-as well as the creative energies of those around me. PK and I are driven by a desire to build the world around us into something full of lightness and beauty, and to learn to exist more in the now than in the might-have-been. This blog charts our navigation of those sometimes murky waters.
